The World’s First HFQ Production Line

AP&T is a metal forming specialist, who develops, manufactures and markets complete production systems, automation, presses, tools and related after-market services for manufacturers of formed metal parts.

Alongside PAB and Impression Technologies Ltd, APT&T has been involved with the complex transition of HFQ from research and development to production.

APT&T has successfully created the world’s first HFQ production line, and this will give manufacturers from around the world access to a new manufacturing material like no other.  Metal formed using the HFQ technique is low weight, high strength and yet flexible and robust enough to create complex shapes with high dimensional stability. It is the ideal material for use within the automotive and transport industry, where lightweight means great efficiency.

Our involvement in the HFQ production phase continues to grow as this first production line has been sold to CIPCO, the collaboration between us and Impression Technologies Ltd which is backed by the UK government’s Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative.

ITL will be unveiling the HFQ production line in May 2016 when it opens the doors to a new manufacturing plant in Coventry and we will be working closely with them. The new plant enables industry leaders from around the world to see first-hand the power and potential of HFQ.
