PAB host visit from Lichfield Cathedral School
PAB recently welcomed a group of pupils from Lichfield Cathedral School, arranging presentations from management along with a full tour of the premises.
Three of the pupils drew a picture of a car and PAB then showed the group all of the process steps needed to take the initial design to a complete component.
PAB also arranged a surprise visit to customer Aston Martin at Gaydon, where the pupils were allowed to see the VIP showroom and production line.
Chanel Crocker, HR Manager at PAB, has a son who is a pupil at the school. “I was so proud to introduce Year 4 to PAB” she said. “The minute the children arrived on the coach all the staff were so excited to see them. We made sure we had so much for the children to see and learn and take back with them.”
PAB Managing Director Danny Wheldon added “PAB were very excited to host Lichfield Cathedral School on an Introduction to Engineering Day. The day consisted of a full site tour and presentations form the management team. Following this Aston Martin kindly agreed to take it a step further and show the children where the components finally end up on the finished car and completed the day with an excellent site tour of their manufacturing plant.”
Mr Wheldon felt that it was the sign of things to come. “We have University students working with us on placement years, but this will be the first of many of these occasions with school students, as we feel very strongly about opening the doors and showing the children future opportunities within engineering. Our thanks go to the teachers and children for such a good day.”
